{"id":962,"date":"2014-11-24T15:56:14","date_gmt":"2014-11-24T15:56:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/duncanmcneil.com\/wordpress\/?p=962"},"modified":"2014-12-17T11:07:30","modified_gmt":"2014-12-17T11:07:30","slug":"greenock-msp-opens-refurbished-store","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/duncanmcneil.com\/wordpress\/?p=962","title":{"rendered":"Greenock MSP opens refurbished store"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Monday 24<sup>th<\/sup> November 2014<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Greenock MSP opens refurbished store<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Greenock shoppers are now able to enjoy their local refurbished Boots store following Monday\u2019s reopening.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0Local MSP Duncan McNeil was on hand to officially open the store, which has undergone significant refurbishment recently, as it returned to business on Monday 24<sup>th<\/sup> November.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Almost \u00a3750,000 was invested in the refurbishment by Boots, and it is now able to offer locals new services, including smoking cessation services, support from a Macmillan pharmacist as well as services such as repeat prescriptions and a new opticians and hearing care practice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Store Manager Richard Smith said \u201cIt has been a long\u00a0 journey, but this refurbishment will allow us to provide an even better service in the future, and I am sure customers will see the benefits immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe amount invested shows how committed we are to Greenock, and shows the importance we place on the town centre as a place to shop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Duncan McNeil, the Greenock and Inverclyde MSP, was on hand to open the store, and he said:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMeeting Richard and the rest of the team gave me a real insight into the role community pharmacies such as Boots play as a community hub as well\u00a0as promoting public health.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCommunity pharmacy has an important part to play in helping to alleviate the strain on the NHS in Scotlandby providing community-based services and I am pleased that the store can provide this valuable service for people across Inverclyde.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Monday 24th November 2014 Greenock MSP opens refurbished store Greenock shoppers are now able to enjoy their local refurbished Boots store following Monday\u2019s reopening. \u00a0Local MSP Duncan McNeil was on hand to officially open the store, which has undergone significant refurbishment recently, as it returned to business on Monday 24th November.
