{"id":1282,"date":"2015-06-09T14:15:51","date_gmt":"2015-06-09T14:15:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/duncanmcneil.com\/wordpress\/?p=1282"},"modified":"2015-06-12T09:32:30","modified_gmt":"2015-06-12T09:32:30","slug":"ae-target-breached-6000-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/duncanmcneil.com\/wordpress\/?p=1282","title":{"rendered":"A&#038;E target breached 6,000 times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Press Release, 13<sup>th <\/sup>May, 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A&amp;E target breached 6,000 times<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Commenting on the Greenock Telegraph\u2019s investigation that found the A&amp;E waiting time target had been breached 6,000 times Duncan McNeil <strong>said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cLast year alone, the target was breached on over 3,000 occasions and in one case an elderly patient had to wait over 17 hours.\u00a0\u00a0Doctors and nurses are working round the clock to help people but it would appear they are not being given the resources to do their job.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cFurthermore, it\u2019s clear, as NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde have admitted themselves that a lack of places in the community is contributing to the build-up in our hospitals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe Scottish Government\u2019s A&amp;E action plan announced today is welcome.
