{"id":1210,"date":"2011-01-18T15:31:56","date_gmt":"2011-01-18T15:31:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/duncanmcneil.com\/wordpress\/?p=1210"},"modified":"2015-03-17T15:34:45","modified_gmt":"2015-03-17T15:34:45","slug":"sold-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/duncanmcneil.com\/wordpress\/?p=1210","title":{"rendered":"Sold Out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">January 18th, 2011<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>SOLD OUT <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Greenock and Inverclyde MSP has accused Scottish Enterprise of selling out Inverclyde after the regeneration budget was slashed.<br \/>\nIn response to the news that Riverside Inverclyde is to face a 70 per cent cut with no guarantee of future funding, the MSP wrote to Scottish Enterprise informing bosses he has lost confidence them.<br \/>\nHe also urged Scottish Government ministers to reverse the decision to cut regeneration in Inverclyde to fund job creation in the North East of Scotland.<br \/>\nDuncan McNeil, MSP for Greenock and Inverclyde, said: \u201cThe 70 per cent cut in Riverside Inverclyde\u2019s budget was imposed without consultation and will take place with immediate effect, which is completely unacceptable.<br \/>\n\u201cThe proposals jeopardise current plans for the area but much more importantly with no firm budgets beyond 2012, threaten Inverclyde\u2019s future prosperity.<br \/>\n\u201cThis situation has come about due an agreement between the Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise to reprofile budgets which created a \u00a370 National Renewables Infrastructure Fund, which excluded Inverclyde.<br \/>\n\u201cIn effect, we now have a situation that Inverclyde &#8211; despite its disadvantages &#8211; is being required to take cuts to create jobs in parts of Scotland more resilient to cuts in public spending.<br \/>\n\u201cScottish Enterprise is selling out our present and our future I have completely lost confidence in its commitment to Inverclyde.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 18th, 2011 SOLD OUT Greenock and Inverclyde MSP has accused Scottish Enterprise of selling out Inverclyde after the regeneration budget was slashed.
