"Listening at Last" - McNeil Welcomes New Health Boss' Stand

Welcoming the comments made yesterday by chair of the new Unitary Health Board, John Mullin, MSP for Greenock & Inverclyde, Duncan McNeil, said:

"I met Mr Mullin a few days after he was appointed and took that opportunity to set out both my disappointment at the manner in which this process has been carried out and the strong, hard arguments in favour of the Rankin Unit.

"While it is important that we do not get carried away or let our guard down, I am nevertheless delighted that these arguments are no longer falling on deaf ears.

"For over a year, in the Parliament, in the community and with the Health Board bosses, I have been making these hard points. I therefore derive some satisfaction from the fact that someone is listening at last."
