Knife campaigner lays down challenge
Greenock knife campaigner John Muir has challenged the Labour party to take action on Scotland's blade culture.
Addressing the Scottish party conference in Oban, Mr Muir thanked the Labour MSPs who had helped his fight against knives but called them to act if they should be returned to government next year.
Greenock and Inverclyde MSP Duncan McNeil, who introduced Mr Muir to the conference, said: "John Muir's story is a powerful one and I was delighted that he was given a platform to tell it at the Labour party conference.
"He made a strong impression on the hall with his drive to end Scotland's evil knife culture.
"If the Labour party is truly to be the people's party, we have to listen to people like John and give voice to their concerns in the Scottish Parliament."
