Rich heritage
Greenock and Inverclyde MSP Duncan McNeil has joined the team from the Heritage Lottery Fund for a tour around Inverclyde.
HLF funds heritage projects of all sizes, including community projects celebrating local heritage, and visited the area to ensure that Inverclyde gets its fair share of lottery funds.
Mr McNeil said: "I was delighted to meet with our visitors from the Heritage Lottery Fund and this underlines their commitment to ensuring that Inverclyde gets its fair share of this money.
"I am confident that this visit will bear fruit in the near future and Inervclyde's rich industrial history will continue to be an asset to the area."
Colin McLean, head of the Heritage Lottery Fund in Scotland, said: "We have funded some extremely successful projects including the Greenock Cut and a recent grant to 'We are Morton' involving members of the Young People's Heritage Forum and Morton Football Club.
"We would like to encourage new projects to use heritage to unlock other benefits such as regeneration, education and social inclusion. Inverclyde has a great success rate with 94% of projects that come to us being funded. We would be delighted to see more good applications."
