Hospital
Cleanliness Figures
Commenting on the publication of the
hospital cleanliness league tables, MSP for Greenock and Inverclyde, Duncan
McNeil, said:
“We have a right to know
how clean our hospitals are. Not
only do these league tables give us this information, they drive up standards by
identifying problem areas where action is needed.
“I am delighted that these
figures show the IRH is maintaining excellent standards – as is the Southern
General, the Western and Golden Jubilee hospitals.
“Indeed, of all the
hospitals we use in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area, only the RAH isn’t up
to scratch. This is a concern, if
not a complete surprise: it is a hospital which is bursting at the seams and
it’s little wonder they can’t cope. I
am glad, though, that the newly formed NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has made it
clear they have an action plan in place to improve cleaning standards.”
