MSPs’
Welcome for Earnhill Pupils
The Chamber of the Scottish Parliament
yesterday joined MSP for Greenock and Inverclyde, Duncan McNeil, in welcoming
pupils from Greenock’s Earnhill Primary to Holyrood.
The pupils, who were watching
the morning debate on post offices from the public gallery, received a warm
round of applause and best wishes from MSPs, when Mr McNeil opened his speech by
drawing Members’ attention to their presence.
Mr McNeil had earlier
met the Primary 6 and Primary 7 pupils in the Parliament’s education centre,
where he answered their questions on his role as an MSP.
The pupils then sat in on a Chamber debate to see the parliament at work
for themselves.
Mr McNeil said:
“It’s always a pleasure
to welcome local school pupils to Holyrood – they are ambassadors for Greenock
and are welcome back any time.
“I visited the kids in
their school last week, to give them a flavour of what the parliament does and
what to expect in a debate. I hope
they found it enjoyable as well as informative.”
