Anger
at Sturgeon Snub on IRH Car Park Charges
On being told by Health Secretary,
Nicola Sturgeon, that she was refusing to require any local consultation on the
imposition of car parking charges at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, MSP for Greenock
and Inverclyde, Duncan McNeil, said:
“I don’t know what we
need to do to get the Health Minister interested in anything that’s happening
in Greenock. On every single point
I have put to her, she either passes the buck, refuses to act, or betrays her
ignorance.
“There might be a problem
with commuters abusing car parking spaces in Glasgow, but everyone – apart
from the Nicola Sturgeon – knows that doesn’t happen at the IRH.
“She has swallowed the
Board’s line that there are the same problems in Greenock as there are in
Glasgow and freely admits there was no consultation carried out here.”
