(Additional Support for Learning) (
Enterprise & Culture Committee
Last week, the Committee
considered and agreed its work programme
for the period up to Christmas 2003.
This will include promoting an informal briefing session to inform the
development of the remit for its business growth and entrepreneurialism
Inquiry; conducting an Inquiry into the development of arts and culture at the
local community-based level in Scotland; and adopting a longer-term budget
scrutiny programme, calling in individual bodies to give evidence out with the
formal budget process, and seeking to cover those bodies within its remit over
the current session of the Parliament.
It also considered and
agreed a draft remit for its proposed Inquiry into renewable energy in
Environment and Rural Development Committee
The Committee took
evidence on the nature Conservation (
Equal Opportunities Committee
At its last meeting,
the Committee took evidence from various religious organisations on the civil partnership scheme. It also agreed its approach to the Education (Additional Support for
Learning) (
European
and External Relations Committee
The main business at the
last meeting was evidence on the Elections
to the European Parliament June 2004. The Committee heard from Bill Miller
MEP; Sir Neil McIntosh, Commissioner of the Electoral Commission; Dougie Ward,
Principal Officer, Electoral Commission; and Kate Sullivan, Assistant Director
of Policy, Electoral Commission.
The Committee also
discussed the agendas for forthcoming meetings of the Council of the European Union.
Finance Committee
The Committee
considered its future work programme along
with its approach to Cross-Cutting
Expenditure Review on Economic Development.
The Committee also took evidence on the Criminal Procedure (Amendment) (
Health
Committee
Members
considered the draft report on the Budget
Process 2004-05 and possible witnesses to give Stage 1 evidence on the NHS Reform (
